An early-morning Amber Alert issued for two missing children was lifted just before 8 a.m. Sunday after the Sûreté du Québec reported they had been found.

The two children, age two and four, were found in St-Paulin, about 50 kilometres northwest of Trois-Rivières. Police had sent out the Amber Alert at 4:25 a.m. Sunday.

The children are “safe and sound,” the Sûreté du Québec said in a statement, and a suspect in the incident was arrested.
