All Retaliation updates and rewards coming in The Division 2 Y8S1

Retaliation have quickly become one of the most essential parts of The Division 2’s core endgame. Players can farm a significant number of EXP for their SHD Watch, or target-farm any gear, including some exclusive Exotics as well. However, with the arrival of Y8S1 Rise Up Season, the game mode is undergoing several changes, both on the enemies and the rewards front, while also adding some QoL updates as well.

This article goes over all the new additional features in the Retaliation game mode, including rewards, QoL, and enemies.

What to expect from Retaliation in The Division 2 Rise Up Y8S1

The Retaliation will be getting several new loot added to the pool, alongside a new enemy faction, and a few QoL updates as well. Here are a few things you must know regarding the new additions to the game mode, ahead of official Y8S1 release:

Elite Kill Squads:

Black Tusks are going to be the new enemy factions added on top of the existing ones. However, another additio is the new Elite Kill Squad system, meant to ambush Agents inside the Retaliation game mode. Much like a normal Kill Squad, players will get notified once they are ambushed by an Elite squad as well, and defeating them will grant different rewards.

However, it seems that the Elite Kill Squad system is only temporary, and will be active for the entire duration of Y8S1. The Black Tusk faction in Retaliation, however, will remain forever in the game.

QoL changes:

Each Retaliation now comes with the option to stack threat meters on top of each other, allowing players to run multiple Retaliation without breaks. In practice, this will be indicated by multiple red circles surrounding the faction on the map. For example, if you want to run multiple Retaliation on the same faction, keep running activities against that faction, accumulate threat, and stack multiple threat circles on the faction name.

Furthermore, the countdown timer for initiating the Retaliation can pause if you are not online.

Each Retaliation can be run with random strangers through matchmaking as well.

Lastly, the conclusion timer at the end will be extended to 1 minute and 30 seconds, instead of just 30 seconds, to give players enough time to loot from the ground.

Rewards:

Black Tusk Retaliation will have their own general weapons and armor pieces as loot pools. However, the most notable ones include Raid, Incursion, and Climax mission gear pieces from regular Black Tusk Retaliation and Elite Black Tusk Kill Squads.

Eagle Bearer, The Bighorn, Sheriff, Provocator, and Ouroboros, can be ontained from activity completions. The climax gear pieces, on the other hand, such as Tinkerer and Birdie’s Quickfix, can be obtained from defeating Black Tusk Elite squads.
