Yankees option former top prospect Jasson Dominguez to triple-A

A former top prospect will begin 2026 in the minors.

Dominguez was one of the prospects in the Yankees’ system over the last five years, before finally making the big leagues in 2025.

In his first full year in the MLB, he appeared in 123 games while hitting .257/.331/.388. He also hit 10 home runs, had 47 RBI and 23 stolen bases.

The Yankees outfield is crowded with Aaron Judge, Cody Bellinger and Trent Grisham, leaving Dominguez as the odd man out.

Despite the move, Dominguez had a great spring, hitting .342/.381/.632 with a 1.013 OPS and three homers.
