Tuesday’s title game of the World Baseball Classic drew almost 11 million viewers, smashing the American network ratings record for the tournament set by the U.S. semifinal game.
The final, in which Venezuela beat Team USA 3-2, had 10.8 million viewers across Fox and Fox Deportes, setting a record for the most-watched WBC game, according to Fox Sports’ release on Thursday.
The previous record, 7.4 million viewers, was set on Sunday when the U.S. beat the Dominican Republic in a semifinal game broadcast on FS1 and Fox Deportes.
The 2026 final drew 128% more viewers than the title game of 2023, when Japan beat the U.S. 3-2. That game was broadcast on FS1 instead of Fox and drew 4.5 million viewers.
The 2026 World Baseball Classic, Fox Sports said, was also the most-watched edition of the tournament on English-language networks, bringing in an average of nearly 1.3 million viewers across games broadcast on Fox, FS1 and FS2.
The average ratings represent a 156% increase from 2023, when the games averaged 506,000 viewers on English-language networks.
