Man United to reject new Rashford proposal from Barcelona with ultimatum clear
Barcelona have an option-to-buy Marcus Rashford this summer but the Spaniards have been insistent on looking to negotiate those terms with Manchester United
Manchester United will turn down Barcelona’s attempt to extend Marcus Rashford’s loan deal by a further season. And United will inform the Spanish giants to pay up the agreed £26million fee – or return the England star to Manchester in June.
Rashford joined Barca on a season-long loan arrangement last summer. At the time, both clubs agreed the deal would become permanent for £26m.
Rashford has since rediscovered his best form and is keen to commit his long-term future to Barca.

However, re-elected Barca president Joan Laporta wants to extend the striker’s loan into a second season – to avoid having to meet the asking price until the summer of 2027.
“Marcus is performing very well with assists and goals, and Cancelo, on the other hand, is doing very well,” Laporta told RAC1.
“He has become a key player due to the injuries of both full-backs. We will try, in Barca’s interest, to ensure that Marcus can continue.”
United bosses have had no recent communication with their counterparts in Spain. But it’s understood the English giants are unwilling to allow Rashford to remain at the Nou Camp on loan.
United would be willing to take Rashford back – and sell him to the highest bidder ahead of next season.
Old Trafford chiefs recognise that Rashford’s resurgence in Spain has increased his valuation in the transfer market. And United would be confident of getting closer to £50m for the 28-year-old, while also removing him from the wage bill at the same time.
Rashford has netted 10 goals and registered eight assists for the Catalan giants. He has regained his place in the England squad and is expected to go to the World Cup this summer.
United are aware that if he can perform well in the tournament for the Three Lions, his valuation could potentially rise even further.
This situation has put both United and Barca on a collision course – with United refusing to negotiate a deal unless it is on their terms.
