Canada orders thousands of rifles with initial order worth $307M from Ontario factory

The federal government is placing an initial order of 30,000 assault rifles over three years worth $307 million from the Colt Canada factory in Kitchener, Ont., Stephen Fuhr, the secretary of state for defence procurement, announced Thursday. The government then has the option to order another 35,402 rifles in the fourth year.
