Body found in Cambridgeshire woodland

The family of a man who went missing in July has been informed

A body has been found in the search of a man who went missing from his Cambridgeshire home in July. Matthew Hallam, 32, was reported missing from his home in Thompson Meadow, Guilden Morden on July 11 of this year.

Cambridgeshire Police carried out searches in the weeks and months following Mr Hallam’s disappearance. On Saturday (December 6), a body was found in the woods in Steeple Morden.

Officers said formal identification is due to take place, but Mr Hallam’s family has been informed. A police spokesperson said: “Officers searching for missing Matthew Hallam have found a body.

“Hallam, 32, was reported missing from his home in Guilden Morden on July 11. Extensive searches were carried out in the weeks and months following the report.

“On Saturday a body was found in the woods in Steeple Morden. Formal identification is yet to take place, but Mr Hallam’s family have been informed.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and the case will be passed to the coroner. We would like to thank members of the public for their support and assistance throughout the investigation.”
