Canada’s Einarson downs Turkey in women’s world curling championship
CALGARY — Kerri Einarson’s curling team produced a bounce-back win at the women’s world championship with a 9-3 victory over Turkey.
Canada, which dropped an extra-end decision to Switzerland a night earlier, moved into a tie atop the standings with the Swiss at 6-1.
Turkey shook hands after six ends. Canada was to face Scotland in the evening draw at WinSport Event Centre.
The top six teams at the conclusion of pool play Friday advance to playoffs.
The top two earn direct entry into Saturday’s semifinals.
The medal games are Sunday.
