“The last time I saw Aiyuk, he was kinda at training camp, kinda not and then he was in and out of the building throughout the first couple of weeks” Kittle said on the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast. “Then I started going out to see him in the weight room because he didn’t go into the locker room or the training room anymore.

“He would just go into the weight room to do his rehab. I would go there and talk to him because he didn’t go to meetings or anything like that. I would just talk to him and let him know ‘I’m your guy. Just letting you know I love you.’ I started doing that Week 6, and then a week later, that story came out about all the crazy stuff and then I didn’t see him again.”
However, the wideout wished him well after he suffered an Achilles injury versus the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs.
“It’s not something I bring up to (49ers general manager) John Lynch or (San Francisco coach) Kyle Shanahan very often.
“I’m like, ‘That’s on you guys.’ I just try to be there for the players if something is going on. I don’t know what’s going on with Brandon. I don’t know what he’s thinking about. So, I really have no idea. He did text me after I got hurt and said, ‘Thinking of you,’ and I said, ‘Thanks dude.’”
Brandon Aiyuk likely to exit San Francisco

Brandon Aiyuk has spent his entire NFL career with the 49ers after he was drafted by the franchise at No. 25 in 2020. The wide receiver showcased his versatility on offense, playing as a receiver and an occasional rusher. He recorded back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons in 2022 and 2023.
Aiyuk’s performances earned him a four-year, $120 million extension in 2024. However, in Week 5 of the 2024 season, he suffered a torn ACL and MCL that changed the trajectory of his career. He missed the remainder of the campaign, as well as the entirety of 2025.
San Francisco has been taking its time to decide what to do with Aiyuk. He has no more guaranteed money on his contract for 2026 due to lack of participation. The wideout could be released or traded in the coming weeks.
