Ink Game Tug of War Rework guide
Ink Game updated the Tug of War minigame to improve gameplay interactivity, introducing a new option where players can choose their strategy. Based on the chosen strategy, players on both teams must time their button presses according to the quicktime event and pull the flag to their side. The rework features a comeback mechanic as well, potentially allowing the losing team to win the match.
Let’s take a look at the reworked Tug of War minigame and find out how it works in Ink Game.
An overview of the reworked Tug of War in Ink Game

Tug of War is one of the minigames you may encounter while playing a standard round. This minigame typically follows Lights Out, at which point you and the other players will be placed in one of two teams. Both teams will roughly have the same number of participants.
Before Tug of War begins, both teams will be presented with three options that determine their respective strategies. These strategies are Standard, Stall, and Rhythmical, and selecting one of them defines the button press timings of the quicktime event (QTE) featured in the minigame.
Once the match progresses and a team begins to lose, they automatically switch to the Rush strategy as a last-ditch effort to win it all. QTEs reappear much more quickly, and the losing team can pull much faster than normal.

Strategy overview

Standard is the default setting that follows the pre-rework pattern of button presses. Each player is given their own set of QTEs, and they must contribute individually without requiring any coordination from their teammates.
Stall is all about prolonging the game as much as possible. In response, the featured QTEs will have much shorter button press windows, meaning every team member will have to be precise. This strategy will take a lot longer to win in exchange for a lower chance of losing the match entirely.
Rhythmical has every teammate coordinate their QTEs for a quicker win. Synchronized button presses makes each pull stronger, allowing the team to gradually overwhelm the opposing team.
The three main strategies have a rock-paper-scissors-style advantage-disadvantage system. Stall has a 20% pull advantage against Standard, while Standard has a 20% greater pull against Rhythmical. Similarly, Rhythmical has a 20% pull advantage against Stall. A part of the winning strategy involves correctly guessing the opposing team’s strategy along with perfect coordination among teammates.
If a team manages to overwhelm and pull the opposing team off the marked area, it will be considered the winner.
