Why Marc-Andre ter Stegen could not vote in Barcelona elections?

After waiting for five minutes, Marc-Andre ter Stegen was not allowed to vote. Why?

All players become members – known as socios – at Barcelona when they join the club, but they need to keep their membership active to participate in the decision-making process.

A source told ESPN that Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s membership is currently inactive, and hence, he was not allowed to cast his vote in the presidential election.

Overall, 114,504 members are part of the electoral register.

Meanwhile, 63-year-old Laporta said that his resounding victory would only result in “exciting” years for Barcelona as they aim to continue their dominance and win the biggest trophies in world football.

“This result is resounding and gives us great strength, so much so that it makes us unstoppable. Nobody will stop us; we will continue to defend Barça against everyone. Exciting years are coming, and they will be the best years of our lives,” Laporta said after his victory.
