Britt Baker finally gives a huge update on her AEW status during Revolution 2026

Britt Baker has finally broken her silence regarding her AEW status following her long absence from the promotion. She did this at an interesting time, as Revolution is currently taking place in Los Angeles.

The former AEW Women’s World Champion has not been seen in the ring since November 2024, during a match on Dynamite against Penelope Ford. That year, she made her return to the promotion after an extended period, but after a quick run, she suddenly disappeared.

Britt Baker is still currently under contract, but many have wondered why she has yet to return on-screen. A fan took to X/Twitter to talk about how AEW Revolution has featured several returns and debuts, but Baker is nowhere to be found. She responded to this post and mentioned how this was not up to her.

Information on Britt Baker’s potential contract expiry

Britt Baker has been healthy, according to reports, so her continued hiatus has been a mystery. Her contract is seemingly not expiring anytime soon, as injury time could be added due to her previous absence due to injury.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful addressed this a few weeks ago. He claimed that due to the time she missed, they could add injury time to her contract, and this could last until 2027. Despite this, she has yet to be factored into any creative plans by the company.

“She’s under contract for a number of months and then AEW could add time to her deal, which normally I wouldn’t think that they would, but now it seems like absolutely something that they would do. I mean, she missed like a long time due to some physical ailments and issues. So she could be under contract well into 2027, maybe even the — I don’t know, but I’ve not heard of her being brought up,” the report said. [H/T – Ringside News]

“People can say anything they want, but at the end of the day, I think Britt (Baker) is a great star for AEW. She’s a homegrown star and the fans connect with her” – Tony Khan (WrestleDream Media Call)

For the case of some AEW stars who have been benched, the promotion usually lets their contracts run their course, instead of utilizing them till this happens. It is unclear if this will be the case for Britt Baker or if she could make a return this year. Fans should stay tuned for any further updates on this situation.
