“Absolutely no”: Rory McIlroy shares blunt take on Tiger Woods’ chances of playing in the TGL playoffs
Rory McIlroy opened about Tiger Woods’ chance to play in the TGL series. The Northern Irish golfer’s TGL team, Boston Common, has made it to the TGL playoffs.
They are going to play against Woods’ Jupiter Gold Links on March 17. Ahead of that, this week in an interview with the Palm Beach Post, the world No. 2 opened up about Woods and talked about his chance to play in the event.
Thanks for the submission!
“No, absolutely not. No, I don’t think so,” McIlroy said.
Tiger Woods has been recovering from disc replacement surgery, which he had in October. He has been away from the field for a while now. However, the 15-time major winner has hinted at playing the Masters, scheduled for next month.
Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy has teed it up this week on the PGA Tour at the Players Championship. He has had a decent start in the game and made the cut after 36 holes. However, he struggled with his game on Saturday and carded 72, slipping down six spots on the leaderboard and settling in a tie for 57th place.
Before this, Rory McIlroy played at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, but he withdrew from the game after playing two rounds of 72 and 68. He was tied for second place at the Genesis Invitational and tied for 14th at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
