A shooting that took place last month in Winnipeg’s West End is now being investigated as a homicide, city police say.

A 21-year-old man died two days after he was critically injured in the shooting, which took place on Agnes Street on Feb. 12, police said in a Saturday update.

Officers were called to a home on Agnes between Sargent Avenue and Wellington Street at around 7 a.m. that day. Police said last month the man had been wounded in his upper body and that they provided life-saving measures before he was taken to hospital.

On Saturday, police identified the victim as Jeremiah Riley Bateman.

The update said no arrest had been made, and investigators are seeking assistance from the public.
