WWE icon sends a message to Jelly Roll after he makes history
A WWE icon has sent a message to Jelly Roll after he made history. The country music singer has had an association with the Stamford-based promotion for some time and even competed in a match at SummerSlam last year.
He also continues to excel as a music star and last month won the Grammy for the Best Contemporary Country Album for Beautifully Broken. Now, the music has made history with another honor.
Thanks for the submission!
On Tuesday, March 10, Jelly Roll officially became a member of the iconic and historic Grand Ole Opry. He was inducted into the family by Lainey Wilson and Craig Morgan. The 41-year-old became only the 77th active member currently in the Opry’s member roster.
During his induction, the “Son of a Sinner” singer wore a cross that belonged to the icon Johnny Cash. Now, WWE legend Kane has reacted to the news of Roll’s historic achievement.
Taking to X, he congratulated the star, sharing the news of his induction into the Grand Ole Opry.
“Congratulations to my man @JellyRoll615!” he wrote.
The Grand Ole Opry is the world’s longest-running live radio show and celebrated its 100 years of operation on Tuesday. In his acceptance speech, Roll thanked Lainey Wilson for her role in his career and delivered a message of faith and gratitude to God.
Jelly Roll set for WWE return this week
Last year, Jelly Roll became a big part of WWE during the road to SummerSlam. He was seen in Randy Orton’s corner in his match against Drew McIntyre at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
This later led to a tag team match at SummerSlam as the country music singer teamed up with The Viper to take on McIntyre and Logan Paul.
Since then, he hasn’t actively appeared on WWE TV but will make an appearance on SmackDown this week. The Miz announced on X that Jelly Roll will be a part of a special edition of Miz TV on the blue brand.
