A missing ice fisherman has been found dead, and a search is underway in Annapolis County for a second missing fisherman.
RCMP say the two men, ages 73 and 77, were reported missing around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday after they failed to return from ice fishing near the community of Belleisle, about 13 kilometres northeast of Annapolis Royal, N.S.
Police used a drone overnight and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre dispatched a Cormorant helicopter to search for the pair. Local fire departments also searched the water.
On Wednesday, ground search and rescue crews and the Department of Natural Resources joined the search.
One of the missing men was located deceased on Wednesday afternoon.
Police are asking people to avoid the search area and stay off the ice.
