Multiple charges related to child pornography, child sexual abuse material and online luring have been laid against a Winnipeg man.

The Winnipeg Police Service’s internet child exploitation unit began an investigation in July 2025 after being alerted to child sexual abuse and exploitation videos uploaded to the internet between February and May 2025, police said in a news release on Tuesday.

During an unrelated investigation by the counter exploitation unit in late August, a man in his 40s was arrested for online luring of a person under 16 for sexual services, the news release said.

He was released with orders to not possess or access electronic storage devices.

Police investigators later identified the man as the internet subscriber linked to the uploaded child sexual abuse images and searched his home in the Wolseley neighbourhood this month.

He was charged with possessing, accessing and distributing child pornography and child sexual abuse materials, as well as failing to comply with his release order.

His name has not been released in order to protect the privacy of involved parties, police said.

Police did not say where the victims lived.
