The town of Stratford is grieving the death of its chief administrative officer, Jeremy Crosby.
In a media release Sunday, the town confirmed Crosby’s passing was “sudden,” but did not provide additional information at this time.
P.E.I. RCMP confirmed to CBC News that Crosby is the man who died following a snowmobile crash on the Confederation Trail near Route 15 in Brackley on Saturday.
“Jeremy’s influence on Stratford is immeasurable. His vision helped guide the town through pivotal periods of growth and change, always with a steady hand, a thoughtful approach, and an authentic passion for strengthening the community,” the town’s statement said.
Crosby spent more than two decades working for the town, spending the last four as CAO.
“Jeremy devoted his career, and truly his heart, to Stratford,” said Mayor Steve Ogden.
“His dedication, integrity, and care shaped the community we know today. We are devastated by his loss and forever grateful for the years we had with him.”
The Stratford Town Centre is closed Monday, March 9, in honour of Crosby. Additional closures are expected in the days that follow.
