A group of 16-year-olds has been charged after police say they stole a pizza bag from a delivery person at gunpoint in Winnipeg’s West End Thursday night.

Officers responded to reports of a robbery at an apartment complex on the 500 block of Victor Street, north of Ellice Avenue, around 7:30 p.m. Thursday where the worker was delivering a pizza, police said in a news release Saturday.

The delivery person was met outside by a teenage girl, who told him to wait. The man was then approached by two boys, who brandished what appeared to be a handgun and demanded the pizza bag, police said.

Officers found a 16-year-old suspect on the sidewalk in the 400 block of Broadway, just west of the legislature, around 10 p.m.

The major crimes unit took over the case, and with the help of a tactical support team and multiple general patrol units, a 16-year-old girl and another 16-year-old boy were located and arrested at a residence in the 500 block of Victor Street.

They also found and seized the handgun, which was determined to be a CO2-propelled gun.

All three teens are facing a charge of armed robbery using a firearm. They were all released on undertakings, police said.
