Fans are extremely excited to see Michael from GTA 5 finally return to Los Santos in GTA Online A Safehouse in the Hills DLC. Ever since the multiplayer title was released in 2013, players have craved to see Ned Luke play Michael De Santa in it. The character’s return to Los Santos was discussed and speculated for years, but he was never added.
Hence, it was a massive surprise when Rockstar added Michael in A Safehouse in the Hills, which could be one of the last GTA Online updates before the release of GTA 6.
On December 5, 2025, loads of details about GTA Online A Safehouse in the Hills DLC were revealed by Rockstar on X. After Michael’s return was confirmed, Ned Luke also acknowledged it via X. He reposted Rockstar’s post and wrote:
“Daddy’s back b******”
After seeing Michael arrive in GTA Online as a character, fans were ecstatic and flooded Ned Luke’s post comment section. One fan named @Gtamen expressed that they were excited to see Michael closing the GTA Online chapter before GTA 6. They wrote:
“Excited for you dude. Nice to see you get your final hurrah after championing the game for all these years. Looking forward to see how Michael/yourself close the GTA Online chapter.”
Other popular GTA accounts on X like GameRoll, GTABase, and Sonny Evans expressed their excitement as well.
Another fan excitedly commented that they want to see Michael arrive in GTA 6’s Vice City as well. As of now, Rockstar Games has not mentioned anything about Michael being in the game. The fan wrote:
“Make sure you come to Vice City too”
In the GTA Online A Safehouse in the Hills DLC trailer, Michael and Amanda, who are now slightly older, congratulate the Online character for coming to the neighborhood. The trailer also shows Michael in full action, breaking the AI screen in the mansion, and also holding a gun. As of now, Rockstar Games has not yet revealed the details of the upcoming missions with Michael.
Michael’s actor from GTA 5 excited for GTA 6
A few months ago, in September, Ned Luke expressed his excitement for GTA 6. He, along with other GTA 5 protagonist actors Steven Ogg and Shawn Fonteno, attended the Retro World Expo, which took place in Hartford, Connecticut, from September 12 to 14, 2025.
In the expo, a YouTuber named Harrison Shipp interviewed Ned Luke and asked about Rockstar’s upcoming title. Michael’s actor, was confident that the game would be great and was excited for it.
He said:
“I’m excited to play it, man. I can’t wait to play it. It is going to be a great game.”
In a follow-up question, the YouTuber asked Ned whether he could tell the audience some secrets. The actor humorously replied that he can spill the beans, but then he would have to kill everyone who hears it.
Yeah, I can tell you a lot of stuff, but then I would have to kill you. Then crawl through the camera and kill everybody else.”
GTA 6 is set to release for PlayStation and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026.
