Delays and closures, including the cancellation of several families of schools, are in effect across parts of P.E.I. Wednesday morning after an overnight snowfall on the Island.
CBC meteorologist Tina Simpkin said snow will continue to fall Wednesday morning, with another two to five centimetres possible, especially for Queens and Kings counties. Snow in Prince County, however, is beginning to taper off.
“It is going to end from west to east, beginning this morning and then ending a little bit later this morning,” Simpkin said.
Closures
- Classes in the Bluefield, Charlottetown, Morell, Souris and Montague families of schools are cancelled Wednesday, as well as at École La Belle Cloche, École François-Buote and École Saint-Augustin.
- Island Montessori Academy’s Stratford and Cornwall campuses will remain closed for the day.
Delays
- All provincial civil service offices in the Queens, Charlottetown and Kings County areas will open at 9:30 a.m.
- Charlottetown City Hall and its administrative offices will open at 9:30 a.m.
- Some health services on P.E.I. delayed opening due to the weather. Islanders are encouraged to visit the Health P.E.I. website for the latest updates.
