Update: Métro's Green Line reopens after brief closure between Lionel-Groulx and Berri-UQAM

The métro’s Green Line has reopened after service was initially halted through the core of downtown Montreal as police carried out an operation Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly after noon, in a post on X, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) cited an emergency services intervention between Lionel-Groulx and Berri-UQAM stations.

Jean-Pierre Brabant, a spokesperson for the Montreal police, confirmed officers responded to an incident in the area but said there didn’t appear to be a threat to the public.

The STM encouraged riders to detour via the Orange Line or use available buses.

In a post around 3 p.m., the STM said service had resumed.
