Sky Sports customers to get free £20 streaming apps in major shake-up

Sky has confirmed customers will be subjected to a significant change soon

Sky Sports users will shortly receive free streaming subscriptions valued at over £20 as part of a significant update to one package. Sky has announced that complimentary access to Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu will be roped into its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle.

Customers paying £42 monthly will therefore gain more than £20 worth of streaming platforms included each month without additional charges, alongside Sky TV, complimentary Netflix and discovery+. The offer applies to current Sky Ultimate TV subscribers and those signing up for a new package before the changes come into place.

Sky has noted, however, that the package will rise by £2 monthly for those subscribing from April 1 onwards. New subscribers taking out the Ultimate TV and Sky Sports package ahead of this cut-off will receive Disney+ Standard with Ads, HBO Max Basic With Ads and Hayu incorporated into their bundle without extra charges, reports Teesside Live.

This is alongside full Sky Sports coverage across nine dedicated channels, including the Premier League, EFL, Formula 1, darts and golf. There are also more than 135 regular channels such as Sky Atlantic and the soon to be re-launched Sky One.

HBO will launch in the UK on March 26, with the exact Disney+ and Hayu dates to be confirmed. The free streaming deal is also available with the standard £22 Ultimate TV bundle, with no Sky Sports channels.

With the deal, Sky customers will be able to watch a host of Disney+ sports documentaries including Welcome to Wrexham, Flintoff, and Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story. There are also countless Netflix series like Beckham, Formula 1: Drive to Survive, Full Swing and Carlos Alcaraz: My Way.

However, customers should note that while HBO Max will be the new home of TNT Sports, an additional TNT Sports plan will be required for full access. Sky also states its prices ‘may change’ during the 24-month minimum term.

Here’s a full breakdown of the deal:
