John Cena’s final opponent is going to be determined on SmackDown tonight. Triple H has sent a message regarding this.
Ever since John Cena announced his retirement tour, fans have been wanting to know who will be his final opponent. To determine this, the 17-time World Champion announced The Last Time is Now Tournament, where the winner would earn the opportunity to face him in his final match. The tournament featured stars from RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and even TNA. LA Knight and Gunther have reached the finals of the tournament and will compete tonight on SmackDown to determine who will be Cena’s final opponent.
Thanks for the submission!
Ahead of SmackDown, Triple H took to social media to send a message about this match.

John Cena’s father doesn’t want Gunther to be his son’s final opponent
Gunther returned to the ring to compete in The Last Time is Now Tournament. The Ring General has had a dominant showing so far and is the favorite to win the tournament. However, John Cena’s father doesn’t want this to happen.
Speaking on the All Axxess podcast, John Cena’s father said he doesn’t want Gunther to be his son’s final opponent because the Ring General does not need the rub.
“Well it certainly wouldn’t be Gunther, that’s for sure. I don’t think that that’s a wise move. I don’t think the fans would enjoy that move. Myself, personally, Gunther does not need the rub. By the way, I’m not a fan of on the way out you’ve got to push somebody over the top. You’re supposed to pass quote unquote the torch. I don’t know whether that’s written anywhere in professional wrestling,” he said. [H/T: Fightful]
It remains to be seen who will win The Last Time is Now Tournament.
