Cody Rhodes shares two-word defiant message ahead of WWE title match
Cody Rhodes shared a two-word message ahead of his Undisputed WWE Championship. The veteran will be challenging Drew McIntyre for the title later this week.
The American Nightmare competed in the Men’s Elimination Chamber match at the PLE this past Saturday night. Drew McIntyre interfered and attacked Rhodes in the ring. The former AEW star planted McIntyre with a Cross Rhodes, but turned around into an RKO from Randy Orton. The Viper then covered Rhodes to win the match and earned a title bout against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 42.
Thanks for the submission!
Nick Aldis announced that Cody Rhodes would be challenging Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship on this Friday’s episode of SmackDown, following the champion’s interference in the Men’s Elimination Chamber match. Ahead of the title match, Rhodes took to social media to claim that it was his last chance and shared a video of himself during Elimination Chamber. You can check it out in the post below.
“Last Chance. #SmackDown,”
Rhodes lost the title to McIntyre in a Three Stages of Hell match earlier this year on SmackDown.
Cody Rhodes comments on the build for WWE WrestleMania 42
SmackDown star Cody Rhodes recently suggested that this year’s WrestleMania may surprise fans.
Speaking on the Mostly Sports podcast, Rhodes suggested that WrestleMania might be a sleeper this year and suggested that fans enjoy the show instead of being impatient with the build.
“Enjoy the season. It’s unpredictable this year. I know there’s a little bit of impatience in general. What are the matches? It’s a Road to WrestleMania, and I think what Triple H will, I think there’s a sleeper WrestleMania emerging if that makes any sense. Sometimes the tenures are very obvious, sometimes the big staple pieces like John Cena’s final [‘Mania match]. I think we’re sitting on a sleeper ‘Mania here.” [H/T: Fightful]
Roman Reigns has selected World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk as his WrestleMania 42 opponent and will be appearing tonight on WWE RAW. It will be interesting to see if Cody Rhodes can defeat Drew McIntyre on WWE SmackDown and go on to defend the title against Randy Orton at The Show of Shows in April.
