Police have asked the public for help in identifying a suspect linked to a break-in spree near Queen’s Park.

Toronto Police said they received three separate commercial break-and-enter calls on Thursday in the Bay St.-Wellesley St. W. area, where the suspect forced entry after shattering the front entrance with a glass-breaking tool.

Police said the suspect stole the cash register from two of the locations and fled before officers arrived.

The suspect is being described by police as a male with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black winter jacket covered in white paint stains with a white/red logo patch on the right arm, a black hooded sweater, black patterned bandana, black pants and black shoes with white laces.

2 people charged after downtown rally

Two Toronto men have been charged after an incident last week during a downtown rally.

Toronto Police said officers were in the Wellington St. W.-Simcoe St. area on Thursday at about 12:45 p.m. for a demonstration when a man was arrested for allegedly causing damage to a building.

Police said a second man attempted to interfere with the arrest and allegedly assaulted two officers.

Rong Cong, 20, was charged with mischief/damage to property under $5,000.

Syed Hussan, 41, was charged with assaulting a peace officer, assault with the intent to resist arrest and obstructing a peace officer
