Boil-water advisory in effect for area spanning West Island municipalities and St-Laurent

The City of Montreal issued a boil-water advisory Sunday at around noon for an area across multiple West Island municipalities and the borough of St-Laurent.
The municipalities affected include
Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Dorval and Pointe-Claire. The advisory is in effect for about 200 addresses and is “due to work being carried out on the water system,” the notice says.
Residents in the area are urged to boil their water for at least one minute before brushing their teeth or drinking. Unboiled tap water can still be used for personal hygiene or other household purposes.
The directive is in effect until further notice.
