“Would you be mad if your ex did this?”: Perez Hilton reacts after actress in Bruno Mars’ new music video looks “eerily similar” to ex Jessica Caban
Popular podcaster Perez Hilton has recently reacted to fan theories claiming the actress in Bruno Mars’ new music video for Risk It All looks “eerily similar” to his ex, Jessica Caban. The song is part of his recently released album called The Romantic.
For the unversed, The Romantic is the fourth solo studio album by Mars. Released on February 27, 2026, it marks his first solo album in almost a decade. Risk It All is a Latin-influenced ballad in which Mars speaks about how he would barter everything for the person he loves. It is the second single from The Romantic, which was released following I Just Might.
On February 27, Mars dropped the music video for Risk It All, and fans immediately flocked to social media with their reactions. Among them, several claimed that the bride in the video looks similar to Mars’ longtime girlfriend Jessica Caban. For the unversed, Mars started dating her in 2011, and the two were together for almost 14 years before confirming their split in January 2025.
Perez Hilton took to his blog to mention these fan theories and reacted to the same. After delving deep into the “divided opinions” on the same, the podcaster wrote:
“Would U be mad if your ex did this? Or is it as the title of his album says — Romantic?”
The music video starts with Mars playing guitar inside an empty church. The Grammy winner is seen boasting an all-white suit and a cowboy hat. As people flock inside the premises, his female lead walks down the aisle in a bridal attire. The 40-year-old sings:
“I would run through the fire just to be by your side / If your heart’s on the line you could take mine / It’s crazy but it’s true / There’s nothing I won’t do / I’d risk it all for you.”
After their wedding, Mars and his bride exit the premises in a “just married” car, which is followed by a montage of their whole lives. It ends with them growing old and reminiscing about their wedding day by looking at a photo.
Reacting to the video, Perez Hilton wrote:
“The way this man sings about wanting to settle down and spend his life with his lady is TOO romantic.”
Bruno Mars’ music video for Risk It All has already crossed 5.8 million views in less than 24 hours.
