Ricochet breaks silence on allegedly backtracking WWE comments

Ricochet has been on a barrage of negative comments about WWE since joining AEW. A controversy sparked following his latest statement, and he chose to break the silence to clarify the situation.

The One and Only was a mid-card attraction throughout the majority of his run in WWE. He left the company in 2024 to join All Elite Wrestling and has become one of their major attractions, currently the reigning AEW National Champion.

Ricochet has been firing shots against WWE ever since, and most recently claimed that the company destroys legacies, including his own, which reportedly infuriated the people there. However, he was recently accused of walking back his comments, which led to him being called for not sticking to one opinion.

The former WWE United States Champion took to his X to clarify the accusations. He made it clear that while he had some good times in the Stamford-based promotion, the company did tarnish his wrestling legacy.

“See misinformation. I never walked back anything. AFTER BEING ASKED A QUESTION IN AN INTERVIEW haha I simply said I did enjoy lots of my time there. I stand by the fact I believe my wrestling legacy was tarnished.”

Ricochet teases his wife’s arrival in AEW

Much like Ricochet, his wife, Samantha Irvin, who was a WWE ring announcer, left the company in 2024. While she is currently serving a two-year non-compete clause, The King of Flight teased that his better half could join him in AEW in the future.

“She [Samantha Irvin] and I have chemistry together. I think whether it’s good or bad, we’ll be able to get reactions out of people. We’ve already proven we can get reactions out of people off of little to nothing. A heel Samantha on camera—she’s been an actress her whole life […] I’m excited to see it, and excited for the world to see it too. Who knows if that’s going to be this year, next year, or whenever,” he said.

With the former WWE superstar thriving in All Elite Wrestling, it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
