A section of Barton Street E. will be closed for two weeks to address a “significant” leak in a watermain, says the City of Hamilton.
The city discovered the issue under a CP rail track through “proactive monitoring,” it said in a notice Wednesday.
“It is important that this issue is addressed promptly to prevent any impact on the safety and operation of the rail line and water services,” the city said.
Barton Street E. will be closed between Belmont Avenue and Lincoln Street from 9 a.m. on Feb. 27 to 9 a.m. on March 13.
No through traffic will be allowed and emergency vehicles and buses will also follow detours, the city said.
