Sharon Osbourne makes the heartbreaking decision to move part-time to the US and away from the Buckinghamshire home where her husband Ozzy is buried

Sharon Osbourne has had to make the heartbreaking decision to move part-time to the US.

Her husband, Black Sabbath legend Ozzy, died of heart failure on July 22, just two weeks after performing a farewell concert with his bandmates at Villa Park stadium in Birmingham.

He has since been buried in the private grounds of Welders House, the Grade II listed building originally purchased by Ozzy and Sharon in 1993, shortly before the couple relocated to Los Angeles.

While Ozzy is buried in the grounds of Buckinghamshire, the couple’s three children, Aimee, Jack and Kelly, as well as their five grandchildren, have returned to their homes in Los Angeles.

And after spending the Christmas holidays in LA with her children, Sharon has now decided to split her time evenly between her UK home and a new apartment in Los Angeles, spending ‘half the year at least’ on the West Coast, according to The Sun.

According to one source, the move could become permanent, with expectations that she will ‘probably just spend most of her time in the US again within a couple of years’.

Sharon, 72, is also a doting grandmother to Jack’s daughters – Pearl, Andy Rose, Minnie Theodora and Maple Artemis – and also to Kelly’s little boy, Sidney, and misses being a part of their daily lives, insiders say.

Sharon, who worked alongside Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh on the now-defunct ITV show, The X Factor, has a huge network in Los Angeles, where she and Ozzy lived for 20 years.

Their hit reality show, The Osbournes, which ran from 2002 to 2005, was filmed primarily at the family home in Beverly Hills’ prestigious Hancock Park neighbourhood.

Yet Ozzy, who grew up in Aston, Birmingham, had always insisted he wanted to return to England to die.

As his health failed, the US property was put on the market, with an asking price of $18million, which prompted Sharon to make renovations to ensure their UK home was fit for his increasing needs.

She planned to include a ‘rehabilitation wing’ to help him learn to walk again, and had an extension built for a nurse’s flat for an on-site carer to provide round-the-clock care.

The renovation also boasted a ‘health and welfare exercise studio’, an ‘art studio room’ and ‘pool house orangery’ complete with spa, wet room and changing area.

To make sure that Ozzy could get fit in private, a 2.4m high fence was installed to keep out prying eyes and the CCTV monitoring their grounds was upgraded.

Sharon and Ozzy were supposed to return to the UK in 2024 as they had been working on a ten-part reality series called Home To Roost, documenting their return to England.

But it was believed that Ozzy was simply not well enough and they finally returned earlier last summer, in time for his final Black Sabbath reunion concert at Aston Villa’s Villa Park stadium in Birmingham.

There, he was joined by fellow original band members Tony Iommi, Terence ‘Geezer’ Butler and Bill Ward on stage.

Weeks later, on July 22, he died at home from a heart attack, aged 76.

The Daily Mail has contacted Sharon’s representatives for a comment.

This month Sharon marked her very first Valentine’s Day without Ozzy as she shared a heartbreaking post.

The businesswoman, who had been married to the Black Sabbath legend since 1982, poignantly remembered her soulmate, seven months after he passed away.

In the emotional Instagram tribute, Sharon posted a snap of their hands locked, captioning: ‘Forever Valentine,’ alongside the infinity sign emoji.

Last week Kelly penned an emotional poem about enduring ‘cruel and relentless’ grief after her father’s death.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Kelly, 41, wrote on her Story: ‘Dear Grief, I hate you. I hate the way you slip into ordinary moments and ruin them. A song, a smell, a quiet room.

‘Suddenly I can’t breathe. You turn memories into knives. You make the world keep spinning while mine stands still.

‘I hate how you remind me, over and over, that he is gone. Not coming back. Not calling. Not laughing. Not singing Just gone. And you make sure I never forget it.

‘You sit on my chest at night. You wake me up with what-ifs. You replay the last words, the last look, until they blur and break me over and over again.

‘I hate that you exist because of my love for him existed. I hate that the price of loving him is carrying you. Grief is heavy. Grief is cruel. Grief is relentless. And l am so tired of the pain. – Me.’

Earlier this month, Sharon was supported by her children Jack and Kelly at the 2026 Grammy Awards, where she broke down during a tribute to Ozzy.

His legacy was celebrated during the ‘In Memoriam’ segment, with a powerhouse performance of his Black Sabbath classic War Pigs by Post Malone, Slash, Duff McKagan, Chad Smith and Andrew Watt.
