Burnaby RCMP say a man died in a head-on collision on Marine Way, just east of Roseberry Avenue, Monday night.

Police say a vehicle travelling eastbound on Marine Way was struck by another travelling westbound at around 11 p.m.

The driver of the westbound vehicle, a man, died as a result, Burnaby RCMP said in a news release.

RCMP did not say how many other people were involved in the collision but that all were transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Cpl. Mike Kalanj said speed was believed to be a factor in the crash. He said investigators from Burnaby RCMP’s criminal collision investigation team would be at the scene throughout the day Tuesday and traffic would be affected in the area.

The force is asking anyone with dashcam video and any witnesses of the crash to contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 and quote file number 2026-5701.
