4 Consequences Nick Aldis could face for refusing to lift Drew McIntyre’s WWE suspension

The December 5 edition of WWE SmackDown started with a fiery brawl between Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes backstage. The American Nightmare attacked his rival by breaking into his car and had to be held back by security.

Rhodes then stormed into the ring and cut an intense promo asking Nick Aldis to lift McIntyre’s suspension. However, the SmackDown General Manager refused to reinstate the Scottish Warrior despite pressure from McIntyre and now, Rhodes as well.

In this listicle, we will take a look at four consequences Aldis could face for not lifting Drew McIntyre’s WWE suspension.

4. Drew McIntyre could attack Nick Aldis

Things have been tense between Drew McIntyre and Nick Aldis for months. The two have been at odds for a while, and things might reach a breaking point in the coming weeks if Aldis continues to keep the former WWE Champion away from television.

The Scottish Warrior could take matters into his own hands and attack the SmackDown General Manager out of frustration. He could return to the blue brand to take out Aldis backstage, in what would surely lead to the two feuding and the National Treasure seemingly making his in-ring debut for WWE.

3. Drew McIntyre could request a transfer back to RAW

If McIntyre remains off television in the coming weeks, he could request a transfer back to RAW. The Scottish Warrior has been on SmackDown for a while, but hasn’t been booked as strongly as he was on the red brand.

He could take the issue up with the higher-ups and leave the blue brand for good to finally return to television.

2. The Rock could remove Nick Aldis from his position

Drew McIntyre’s friendship with The Rock is well-documented. The Final Boss is a member of the TKO board of directors and could exercise his authority to remove Nick Aldis from his position if he refuses to lift McIntyre’s suspension.

McIntyre is known to hold grudges and could want to see Aldis removed from his position if he continues to keep him off television. The former NWA star leaving his position as General Manager would also open up the possibility of him becoming a full-time in-ring performer for the first time since joining WWE.

1. Cody Rhodes could attack Nick Aldis

The feud with Drew McIntyre has brought out the worst in Rhodes. He is no longer the pure, heroic babyface that he was in his first run as the Undisputed WWE Champion. Rhodes now gives in to his anger and frustration, as was evident on the latest episode of SmackDown.

He has been using quite a few heel tactics inside and outside the ring over the past few months. He demanded that Aldis lift McIntyre’s suspension while in the ring on SmackDown, only to be refused. Since Rhodes still has a score to settle with the former World Heavyweight Champion, he could snap out of frustration and put his hands on Nick Aldis if he keeps refusing to reinstate McIntyre.

This would surely lead to Rhodes turning heel and would make for an interesting dynamic in the WWE Title feud.
