3 WWE rumors we hope are true and 2 we hope aren’t
Welcome to another edition of WWE rumors we hope are true, and we hope aren’t. Ahead of WrestleMania 42, SmackDown witnessed a major title change this past week as Carmelo Hayes lost the United States Championship.
Jacob Fatu vs. Drew McIntyre is now official for ‘Mania, and they will collide in an Unsanctioned bout. In this article, we will look at three WWE rumors we hope are true, and two we hope aren’t.
Thanks for the submission!
#3. Hope true: Carmelo Hayes’ plans after losing the title
Sami Zayn dethroned Carmelo Hayes and became the new United States Champion on the blue brand. Immediately after this, Nick Aldis announced Zayn vs. Trick Williams for The Show of Shows. Hence, Melo’s plans for The Showcase of Immortals are uncertain.
The title match’s outcome led fans to speculate that the former NXT Champion could be written off television. Recently, a report by Bodyslam suggested that this wasn’t the case. Hayes is seemingly not set to take time off as we head toward The Grandest Stage of Them All.
Fans believed that Melo could take a break to get married to Kelani Jordan after their pictures from a photoshoot were posted online. However, the photoshoot was of the couple’s engagement ceremony and not their wedding.
We hope that the rumor is true. It will be a poor idea if WWE drops Carmelo from the ‘Mania match card after giving him a stellar US Title reign.
#2. Hope not: SmackDown star’s ‘Mania status uncertain
Chelsea Green continues to be part of Friday Night SmackDown despite being injured. The former Women’s United States Champion got hurt last month. However, she has still managed to remain a crucial part of the blue brand’s women’s division.
However, a report by Wrestlevotes has indicated that there is uncertainty surrounding Green’s recovery time frame and whether she will be medically cleared in time for WrestleMania 42. If she fails to recover in the coming weeks, The Hot Mess will miss ‘Mania this year despite consistently entertaining fans with her performances on SmackDown.
We hope that the rumor is not true. Superstars wait for an entire year to be featured at The Shows of Shows. We hope Green makes a quick recovery before ‘Mania.
#2. Hope true: Jacob Fatu’s real mystery attacker
Jacob Fatu is set to lock horns with Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 42 in an Unsanctioned bout. The Samoan Werewolf continues to accuse The Scottish Psychopath of attacking him last year. However, McIntyre has denied the allegations time and time again.
Amid this, Cory Hays of BodySlam has hinted that the real mystery attacker of Jacob could be Randy Orton. It could be done to set the stage for a feud between the duo, potentially for the Undisputed WWE Title following ‘Mania.
We hope that the rumor is true. A feud against Fatu could be good for The Apex Predator if he dethrones Cody Rhodes at The Showcase of the Immortals.
#1. Hope true: Bianca Belair WWE in-ring update
It’s been almost a year since Bianca Belair last competed inside a WWE ring. The EST is still recovering from her real-life injury. With ‘Mania 42 on the horizon, a positive update has emerged regarding her status.
BodySlam reported that Belair has started light training as she looks to make her comeback. We hope that the rumor is true. Given the report, Bianca is finally on the road to making her WWE return soon.
#1. Hope not true: Dean Ambrose’s WrestleMania 42 status
Recently, Dean Ambrose’s (Jon Moxley) name was mentioned on RAW. This happened when Paul Heyman was listing the stars whom Brock Lesnar has conquered so far. The namedrop sparked speculation among fans about his potential WWE return at WrestleMania 42. However, Sean Ross Sapp has clarified that Jon Moxley is not returning at this year’s Shows of the Shows.
Everyone knows there is no way Ambrose is returning to WWE at ‘Mania, particularly due to his AEW contract. Still, as fans, we hope that this rumor is not true and Moxley shows up at WrestleMania 42.
