2026 SEC Baseball Tournament Schedule (TV & Time CT)

The SEC Baseball tournament schedule begins on Tuesday, May 19, and concludes with the Championship Game on Sunday, May 24. All times are listed in Central Time (CT). The broadcast landscape is shifting; most early-round games will air on the SEC Network, while the semifinals and championship game are likely to move to ESPN or ESPN2. The Teams: The 16-Team Gauntlet

For 2026, the regular-season champion, division winners, and wild cards are seeded 1 through 16. The top four seeds earn a double-bye directly into the quarterfinal round (Game 5-8).

Tournament Format & Key Rules

The 16-Team Expanded Field

The SEC made the historic jump to 16 teams in 2025 following the addition of Texas and Oklahoma. All 16 conference teams qualify for the tournament; no teams are left at home.

The Double-Bye System

Earning a top-four seed is a monumental advantage. The No. 1 through No. 4 seeds automatically advance to Wednesday. This means they play fewer games and can leverage higher-end pitching to make it to the championship game. 

Run Rule

The SEC regular-season 10-run mercy rule is not in effect for the tournament. Games must be completed in full (9 innings, or extra innings if tied).

• Television: Nearly every game from Tuesday through Friday will air live on the SEC Network. The National Semifinals and Championship Game are traditionally broadcast on ESPN or ESPN2.
